Therapy as an Investment with High ROI

Updated: Oct 22, 2025

In the business world, there's a lot of talk about ROI — return on investment.

But have you ever thought about therapy that way?

Therapy isn’t just another expense. It’s one of the most meaningful investments you can make in yourself — and the return can impact nearly every part of your life: your peace of mind, your relationships, your career, and your sense of freedom.

The Real Cost — and Value — of Therapy

Let’s be honest: therapy costs money. Sometimes more than we’d like.

But most things that truly create change take both time and investment. Quality things cost money — and therapy is no different.

It’s also not always a straight line. There are ups and downs, moments of progress and moments where things feel messy. But if you stick with it, the results can be life-changing.

When you take an hour each week to focus on yourself — to slow down, to make sense of what’s happening inside, to learn new ways of relating to your emotions and the people around you — you’re doing more than just talking. You’re actively becoming a freer, stronger version of yourself.

That’s why it helps to shift how you see therapy: it’s not an expense, it’s an investment.

Investment vs. Expense

For example, when I pay property taxes, it is just an expense. An expense that I don’t feel too happy about! It doesn’t feel like an investment — it’s just something I have to do, and there’s no meaningful return on it.

But when I put money into an investment account, like a money market account or a mutual fund, I may not see the growth right away, but I know that over time it’ll build and pay off. I know that when I retire I’ll be happy that I invested earlier in my life.

Therapy works the same way. You put in time, energy, and resources now — and over time, you see real change.

That return might look like:

• Feeling more grounded and at peace

• Building deeper, more connected relationships

• Having more energy and focus at work

• Experiencing freedom from old patterns or pain

Accelerated Growth: The EMDR Intensive

For people who want faster results than weekly therapy, I also offer EMDR Intensives — an accelerated format that allows us to get a lot done in a short amount of time. (Learn more here)

It’s a great fit if you’re a busy professional, executive, or entrepreneur who has a hard time fitting weekly therapy into your schedule but still wants meaningful change.

Here’s what it looks like:

• We start with a detailed intake session to clarify your goals.

• Then we spend 1–3 days doing focused, 3-hour sessions that go deep into the core issues.

• Finally, we have a follow-up session two weeks later to help you integrate what we worked on.

This condensed format helps people move through years of pain and stuckness in a fraction of the time. It’s a powerful way to get a high ROI on your time, energy, and emotional investment.

Yes, the cost is higher than weekly therapy — but so is the impact.

Think of it as investing in a breakthrough instead of a slow build. For many of my clients, this has been the most effective way to create lasting change.

Weekly Therapy Still Has Incredible ROI

If an intensive doesn’t feel like the right fit right now, that’s completely okay.

Weekly therapy still has an amazing return. The consistency, trust, and safety you build over time often become the foundation for deeper healing and long-term growth.

What matters most is that you’re choosing to invest in you — your growth, your freedom, and your future.
