EMDR Intensives

Is intensive therapy right for you?

What are EMDR Therapy Intensives?

Therapy intensives are extended, deep-focus sessions designed to accelerate your healing. Instead of months of weekly sessions, an intensive allows you to accomplish the same amount of progress in just a few days.

1-day intensive → Equivalent to 1 month of therapy

2-day intensive → Equivalent to 3 months of therapy

3-day intensive → Equivalent to 6 months of therapy

Why Choose an Intensive Over Weekly Therapy?

More time for deep work

In weekly therapy, we often spend 30% of the time managing day-to-day stressors.

In an intensive, 90% of our time is focused on deep, transformational healing.

Faster results, fewer interruptions

Weekly therapy can create artificial boundaries in the healing process. Intensives provide a holistic, uninterrupted environment for change.

Better alignment with how the brain processes trauma

Research suggests that continuous, immersive therapy allows for deeper neurological healing, rather than stopping and restarting each week.

Backed by research

EMDR intensives are just as effective as weekly therapy (See study)

They have been shown to help severe trauma without overwhelming clients (See study)

Therapy Intensives are helpful for...

Memories that still feel stressful or overwhelming when you think about them

Anxiety, depression, panic attacks, or phobias

PTSD symptoms like flashbacks, emotional overwhelm, or avoidance

Adult children of parents with untreated mental illness or substance use disorders

Recent traumatic experiences that feel unresolved

Therapy Intensives are not recommended for…

Active Crisis: If you’re experiencing serious thoughts of harming yourself or others and have a plan to act on them, you need immediate crisis support.

Severe Dissociation: If you frequently "check out" from daily life or have been diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), an intensive may not be the best approach right now.

Unstable Living Conditions: If you lack basic needs like food, shelter, or physical safety, stabilizing those areas should come first.

If any of the above apply to you, therapy is still an option—but an intensive may not be the best fit. Let’s talk about how to get the support you need.
